8.24.12 Carnival nights

This is a beautiful sight to come home to....glowing coals!

Dan grilled brats and these delicious pork ribs.  Joey could not stop eating them.  He wanted Dan's and more.  We walked downtown after supper.  Hey, we paid $49 for the full week pass for Joe.  He might as well use it for all it's worth.  (I can hear the older kids thinking..."Gee, for us they only bought the One Day All you can ride pass!") (Yes, there's only one of Joe though.)
Our first stop....the giant hamster balls. This is going to be the $6 daily thing.  He was much better at it today, and actually had some hamster running stretches.  As long as there's not a long line, they let the kids stay in them for quite a while.
Another favorite last night...Bumper cars!

We enjoyed walking the midway.  Sometimes we see people we haven't seen for an entire year, since last year at the midway.  I run into former students, who are now teenagers and beyond.  Former coworkers, current coworkers, and even Joe's school friends.  He had fun with Kobi and Patrick last night.  We stayed until after 10.  It's fun when the lights are on at night.

So, today and tomorrow will be carnival rides also.  It's supposed to be 79 degrees, and it's overcast, so downtown isn't too roasty.
