5.30.13 Black Hills vacation day 2, Needles and Custer State Park

More photos of the Needles Highway Rock formations.
More. Is this a good idea?
Looking up!
The highway has a couple of narrow paths blasted through, and there is only room for traffic one way!
Cars honk, then drive through.  Drivers have to pause going each way, and take turns.  Too fun.
And more...Joe, still wearing his $8 hat!
And more...
Stacie, portrait, age 53.
Honk, and enter.  Us, passing through  the tunnel on the Needles Highway.
So exciting!  Buffalo siting.  Sadly, Joey was so tired from all  the hiking
that he was asleep when we saw the buffalo. There were 2 magnificent buffs!
Drivers do read the signs that "Buffalo can be dangerous," But people will actually get out of their cars and walk right up to take photos. You can even see ticks on their shaggy hides. The buffalo rub against trees.
In stark contrast to "buffalo can be dangerous" signs, we snapped a photo of this one for Emily...
near Legion Lake.
